This is one of two paintings I did last year of this gentleman, and some of my blog visitors may remember the earlier version I posted back in November. I used the same reference photo for both paintings, but altered the angle of the sitter in this one and included the bible which was in the original photo given to me. It's not very often I get to paint the same subject more than once, and it was interesting to be able to explore different colour choices for each one, particularly with regards to the background and ambient colour.
