I'm working at the moment on a series of 8 x 8 portrait commissions which I can now start to share with you on the blog. This first painting is of David Carlisle, who was himself an artist and has now passed on. From the little bit I was told about him, David divided his time between painting and working as a gillie and manager at the famous salmon fisheries on the River Moy in County Mayo. By all accounts he was a talented wildlife artist and had exhibited in New York and other places. I hope he would have been pleased with this portrait of him.
