Well, 2011 has arrived and a new painting year awaits. Hopefully things will move onwards and upwards for us all.
I decided to kick things off with a small landscape painting, something I haven't done much of really - small or large. This is a view of the Ochil Hills near to where I live, where we've had record snowfalls this winter. I quite liked the composition and tonal arrangement of this one so might work it up as a larger painting at some point. I'm hoping to do more landscape paintings this year, amongst other things, but I'm just keeping them small to begin with so I quickly get through a few warm-up pieces. A few more of these will follow hopefully.
