"Drake's Rock"

8 x 10"
Oil on board

It's back to the ducks of New Abbey again with this latest painting. I knew it wouldn't be long before I did return to them, and no doubt there will be more to come. I went a bit duck crazy with taking photos when we were there. The morning sunlight and the green algae in the pond produced some incredible colours, it was difficult not to want to snap everything.

This handsome drake was standing on an isolated rock in the middle of the pond, watching all that was going. It looked to me like the best seat in the place, if you were a duck.
