Dumfries and Galloway is one of my favourite regions in Scotland, and a recent holiday there proved to be a real source of artistic inspiration. The very picturesque village of New Abbey has an old corn mill and there's a large pond in behind it where we found lots of ducks happily swimming in the sunshine. I like how the painting of this little fella turned out. I think I'll do more duck paintings and certainly some other scenes from New Abbey.
